Star Wars Editor, Maryann Brandon, to Keynote the 2016 Editors Retreat
Reserved for experienced TV, film and video editors, Editors Retreat 2016 will take place in Albuquerque, New Mexico in February.
New York, NY – December 17, 2015 – Future Media Concepts, the nation’s leading training provider and conference organizer in the digital media industry, announced today that co-editor of Star Wars: The Force Awakens , Maryann Brandon, will keynote the 10th Annual Editors Retreat on Saturday, February 6. The conference takes place in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on February 2-7, 2016.
Maryann Brandon is a seasoned editor, director and producer for film, animation and television. Aside from her work as co-editor of Star Wars: The Force Awakens , her recent editing work includes Endless Love (2014), Star Trek Into the Darkness (2013), and the animated films How to Train Your Dragon (2010) and Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011).
“Maryann Brandon has been part of the editorial team of two of the largest franchises history—Star Wars and Star Trek. This will give our attendees a chance to find out about the good (and the bad) of working under that much pressure!” said Jeff I. Greenberg, Editors Retreat Program Manager.
Maryann is a longtime collaborator of J.J. Abrams and she has also edited Super 8 (2011), Star Trek (2009), Mission Impossible III (2006) and the TV series, Alias. She received HPA, SATURN and EDDY nominations for her work on Star Trek , Star Trek Into Darkness and How to Train Your Dragon , while her editing work on Alias brought her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Single Camera Picture Editing for a Drama Series.
Produced in collaboration with the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), Editors Retreat has built a decade-long reputation as a unique industry event. The conference is attended by an intimate group of TV, film and video editors whose work and experience level are vetted prior to registration.
