Future Media Concepts Awards Post-Production Scholarship
NORWALK, Calif. – January 10, 2014 - Cerritos College film major Malessa Ann Campos was awarded a scholarship for her best edited project by Future Media Concepts in December 2013.
With the scholarship, Campos will be able to attend a three-day Final Cut Pro training session ($1,500 value) at the Irvine branch of FMC."The FMC scholarship will (give) me an in-depth understanding of how to edit professionally using Final Cut Pro," said Campos. "It will be exciting to learn the various techniques professionals use to edit content for commercials and TV/Film."
Campos, a California State University, Long Beach, alumna, is a substitute teacher at a high school. Film has always been an interest to her, and she decided to return to school to pursue an A.A. in film production at Cerritos. She plans on doing an internship as a production assistant this summer. "Hopefully, interning will give me a good idea of how the film industry works," she said.
FMC is offering this scholarship award to one student every semester from Professor Steven Hirohama's motion picture editing class.
