This course is for video editors who understand the basics of the editing tools in Media Composer and are ready to move ahead and learn the fundamentals of creating effects within Avid Media Composer. Along with its counterpart, MC 101 - Media Composer Fundamentals I, this course provides the foundation for Media Composer User Certification. MC 101/110 - Media Composer Fundamentals I and II
Course Description
This 5 day course combines MC 101 and MC 110 to provide the foundation for the Media Composer User Certification Exam.
MC 201 - Media Composer Professional Editing I
Course Description
Focused primarily on short-form workflows, Media Composer Professional Editing I (MC201) will take you to a new level of editing and provide you with the tips, tricks and in-depth knowledge to distinguish yourself as a true editing professional.
MC 210 - Media Composer Professional Editing II
Course Description
This course provides in-depth workflow knowledge of using keyframe graphs, Paint Effects, Matte Keys, Chroma Key and Luma Key effects, and advanced effect design techniques. The course is divided between modules which present the techniques you need to effectively operate the Avid system along with explanatory material, and exercises that provide hands-on practice. During the exercises, you create and combine effects to achieve real-world results.
MC 239 - Color Grading with Media Composer and Symphony

A variety of strategies and considerations for more effective pre-production planning are also presented.
MC 350 - Advanced File-based Workflow, HD, 2K, 4K and Beyond
Avid Media Composer centric, with round-trip workflows to multiple software applications for editing, visual effects and color grading.
Course Description
This course provides a comprehensive understanding of concepts, theories, standard practices, and relevant software technologies that best prepare students to meet the needs of effective post-production planning and implementation of advanced file-based workflow from HD to 4K and beyond. Key concepts including color space, formats, frame rates, and compression encoding and metadata translation are informed and demystified in lecture presentations, applied and practiced by students in hands-on exercises. Multiple industry standard manufacturer solutions including (Adobe, Apple, BlackMagic Design) will be employed in both demonstration and hands-on practice of roundtrip workflows. Primary instruction and discrete tools and workflows will be delivered on Avid Media Composer Ultimate.
MC 400 - Media Composer System Support
Course Description
The Avid Media Composer System Support (MC400) course will provide students with the techniques to install, configure, and troubleshoot Media Composer editing systems to maximize productivity and minimize system downtime. A blend of online self-study,* combined with classroom lab work and role-playing, gives students’ practical hands on experience. After completing the course, participants will be able to install and configure Avid Media Composer systems and provide first-line support to the Avid customer base. This course prepares candidates for the Avid Certified Support Representative | Media Composer certification exam as well as being the foundation of the program for candidates pursuing the full certification path to become an Avid Certified Support Representative | Elite.

This course leads you through the new Avid Media Composer's fresh and significantly different interface, user settings, Real Time effects and Titler+
Prerequisites: Practical working knowledge of macOS or Windows 10 OS. A background in editing, production, or post-production is also strongly recommended.
